It was a tough weekend for Davidson College’s sports teams. The women’s field hockey team held top-ranked Wake Forest scoreless in the second half Sunday, but lost, 4-1. The men’s soccer team tied the University of Alabama-Birmingham 2-2 Friday to advance to the finale of the Nike Invitiational at UNC Charlotte, but lost Sunday’s final 1-0 to Winthrop. And women’s scoccer fell to UNC Wilmington Sunday afternoon, 2-0, in a game at home.
