Davidson United Methodist Church is creating a new music outreach program for children in the Lake Norman area who do not have access to music education. Support for this music “academy” will come through events organized by the church’s music ministry, beginning with a concert of gospel music and spirituals by the adult and youth choirs on Sunday, Sept. 21.

The concert begins at 4 p.m. at the church, 233 S. Main St. An ice cream social will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Donations will be accepted at the door.
