Wanted: 144 golfers. Lake Norman Kiwanis Club plans its annual charity golf tournament Friday, Sept. 12, at Birkdale Golf Club in Huntersville. It’s the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the club, collecting funds for local children and families in need.

Registration is at 8 a.m.; golfing begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The tournament will follow a captain’s choice format.

The tournament includes breakfast, beverages, prizes and giveaways, and concludes with an awards ceremony. There are three hole-in-one prizes. Golfers have a shot at $5,000 cash, a new car, or a 1-year golf membership at Carolina Trail.
