Ruth Pittard and the Rev. Brenda Tapia, both former longtime program directors at Davidson College, are inviting participants for a home-cooked meal and a discussion of “The Shack,” by William P. Young on Aug. 8, 7-9 p.m., at the Rev. Tapia’s home, 101 Mallard Court. The Rev. Tapia was director of the college’s Love of Learning program until her retirement in 2005. Ms. Pittard is the former assistant dean for community service.
