Downtown Davidson Inc. press release
The stage at Downtown Davidson Inc.’s Concert on the Green was filled to capacity with members of the Lake Norman Orchestra Sunday night. Despite an early summer shower that delayed their performance, the orchestra delighted the crowd with numbers that ranged from the patriotic “Stars and Stripes Forever” to contemporary favorites such as ”High School Musical.”
As part of the Concert on the Green tradition, concert goers packed their picnic baskets and enjoyed a summer’s outdoor dinner. The “most elegant” picnic contest winners came with tea sandwiches, shrimp under silver dome, and grandmother’s best linens. They were mother/daughter duos Ginger and Clarissa Cappadona and Tabitha and Lucy Wheeler.
Downtown Davidson Inc.’s next Concert on the Green will be Aug. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will feature the Stardusters Swing Band. Pack your silliest picnic and be a part of this great outdoor, family friendly evening.
