The new principal at Bailey Middle School, Jennifer Dean, has scheduled several “meet and greet” events in the community, including two in Davidson today (Wednesday, July 9).

She called the sessions “an opportunity to talk informally” before the start of the school year. And by the way, the first day of school for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg system is Monday, Aug. 25.

Here is the schedule for meetings with Jennifer Dean:

  • Wednesday, July 9, she has two meetings set for Davidson: she will be at Summit Coffee from 7:30-9 a.m. and at the Ada Jenkins Center from 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 9, Ms. Dean will be in Cornelius: she will head to Dilworth Coffee on Bailey Road from 7:30 – 9 a.m., and then will be at the Lake Norman YMCA from 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 17, Ms. Dean will be at the North Regional Library in Huntersville from 5-6:30 p.m.

Ms. Dean began her new assignment at Bailey on July 1, following the retirement of Angela Baucom. Ms. Dean was an assistant principal at Bailey when the school opened in August 2006. She spent the last school year as the assistant principal at Midwood High, a transitional school in Charlotte for ninth-graders who fail the 8th grade end-of-grade test.
