More than 100 cyclists joined a 30-mile bike ride from downtown Davidson on Sunday in support of local cyclist and cancer patient Skip Sullivan and to raise money for Lance Armstrong’s cancer foundation.

Riders started and finished Sunday’s ride outside Summit Coffee on Main Street. Organizers asked riders to contribute or raise donations for Livestrong, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Mr. Sullivan is a longtime fan of Mr. Armstrong and traveled to France several years ago to see him ride in the Tour de France. Mr. Armstrong also was diagnosed with testicular cancer and during his treatment started the foundation to help others.
Neighbor Jason Huff helped organize Sunday’s ride after learning that his friend, Mr. Sullivan, had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Mr. Sullivan joined Sunday’s ride. He is scheduled to undergo surgery this week.
