The Walsh Memorial Bell Choir from The Presbyterian Church in Morris Plains, N.J., will perform in Davidson on Thursday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 301 Caldwell Lane. A freewill offering will be collected at the door.
The Choir was established in September 1968 as a memorial to Rev. Joseph E. Walsh, pastor from 1928 to 1962.
The Walsh Memorial Bell Choir is the concert choir in a program of one adult and three youth hand-bell choirs. The current ringers are in grades 7 – 12, and most have been ringing since the fourth grade.
The Walsh Memorial Bell Choir has participated in many Area and National Festivals sponsored by the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and has made numerous mission concert tours throughout the United States and in Canada, England, Mexico, France and Germany. This concert is a stop on their Summer 2009 tour of Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina.
