Heavy thunderstorms overnight have disrupted the email and telephone systems at Davidson Town Hall. Town spokeswoman Sara-Lynn Levine said town officials are working on the problem, but she wasn’t sure when service might be restored.
There was lightning and wind as a storm blew through in the early morning hours. Power was briefly disrupted in some neighborhoods. Duke Energy reported thousands of customers were without power briefly in Mecklenburg County overnight. As of 9:30, service had been restored to all but 56 customers, according to the utility.
Statesville-based Energy United reported no outages in Mecklenburg County. The company has 24,180 customers in Mecklenburg, including homes in Davidson and Cornelius.
