Town Hall telephones were on the fritz Wednesday and voice mail may be out Thursday and possibly Friday as well, the town said Wednesday night.

Some calls to Town Hall Wednesday brought only a dial-tone, and town offices have been without voice mail as well, making email the easiest way to reach town officials. Here’s the full text of an announcement sent Wednesday night:

The town has been experiencing technical difficulties with its telephone service and did not receive voice mail messages on Wednesday, May 28, 2008. After consulting with Nucentric, our technical services consultant, we have been told we will probably be without voice mail tomorrow or possibly Friday. If you need immediate assistance, please try calling again or sending an email. Thank you for your patience.
