![]() HAMMERS 2008 calendar |
Photographers are invited to submit entries for a 2009 photography calendar to be published as a fund-raiser for the Davidson Housing Coalition’s HAMMERS emergency home repair program. Deadline is May 30. The calendar’s theme will be “Images of Hometowns,” and photos should depict scenes of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville or Mooresville.
Thirteen images will be chosen – one for each month plus the cover. This is the third year that HAMMERS has published a calendar to help raise money. Its 2007 and 2008 “Images of Home” calendars included a variety of media, from paintings to prints to photographs. This year, the organization decided to focus on photography.
Entries will be judged by Christopher Record, of Christopher Record Photography on Main Street, and by Bill Giduz, of the Davidson College communications office. Winning entries will be shown at a Town Hall exhibit this fall.
Calendars will be available this fall at local shops or through the Housing Coalition website, www.davidsonhousing.org

The entry is $10 per photographer for up to three images. Photographers will be responsible for matting work that is selected for exhibition.
