An Ohio man was arrested and a second man was hospitalized after he was found lying unconscious in a boat before noon Monday near North Harbor Café, off I-77 Exit 30.
It’s not clear what happened at or around the restaurant. Police Chief Jeanne Miller said police responded to an emergency call along with Mecklenburg EMS at around 10:46 a.m.
“We got there, and a man was unconscious. He was transported (to Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville). Another man was there with him, and as we worked through his story, we ended up arresting him,” Chief Miller said.
The first man was taken to the hospital because of a possible drug overdose. Chief Miller said Davidson Police were told he was treated and released last night.
The second man, Ted Jenning Abdon, 22, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, was charged with possession of burglary tools and possession of controlled substances, including the prescription painkiller Oxycodone and Xanax. According to a police report, he had a bag containing pliers, wire cutters, a Confederate license plate, a black plastic box for a boat radio and a radar detector.
Mr. Abdon was being held in Mecklenburg County Jail on $8,000 bond.

Those damn Yankees continue to fight the war! Now they’ve sent an infiltrator down from Ohio to steal our Confederate license plates. Good work by the Davidson militia in stopping them before they got to the NASCAR memorabilia.
