Tickets are now available for the 2008 Reynolds Lecture by poet Derek Walcott (pictured), the 1992 Nobel Laureate in literature, scheduled Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. at Davidson College. The lecture is free, but tickets are required.
Mr. Walcott is a native of St. Lucia, West Indies, who now divides his time between teaching at Boston University and his homes in St. Lucia and Trinidad. He has published more than 15 collections of poetry, including his most recent, “Omeros and Selected Poems,” out last year. He also is a painter, playwright and founder of the Trinidad Theater Workshop.
His lecture will be in Duke Family Performance Hall in the college union. A book signing and reception will follow. Details are available on the college website.
