The town is looking for a new town planner to fill a vacancy created by the departure of planner Adam Feigl.
Mr. Feigl had assisted in a variety of planning activities and had an expertise in geographical information systems, or GIS. He started a job this week with a private firm in St. Louis, planner Lauren Blackburn said Tuesday.
The vacancy is for a full-time planner with 2-5 years’ experience. Applications are due by Feb. 7. The full job notice follows:
Town Planner
The Town of Davidson, NC, winner of 2004 EPA award for Overall Excellence in Smart Growth, is looking for a town planner with GIS and graphics experience.
Position will involve all aspects of planning including supporting charrettes, design and project management and citizen involvement. Candidate needs to be a self-starter and have experience in and commitment to traditional town planning and growth management. Position requires excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to handle controversial issues. Successful candidate will be highly creative and demonstrate interdisciplinary skills. 2 to 5 years experience necessary, GIS and code enforcement experience required. Bachelors or Masters Degree in urban design, planning, landscape architecture or related field preferred. Salary range is $35,081 to $54,376.
