The Town of Davidson Planning Department is seeking old photographs of town for possible use in displays at the new Harris Teeter store.
Town Planning Director Kris Krider said the photos are being sought to cover parts of the front windows of the new grocery. Mr. Krider sent the following explanation:
“As part of the master plan approval for the Harris Teeter, the town agreed to grant some relief for the storefront transparency requirement such as what was required for the CVS. Rather than having blank walls or blacked out glass, Harris Teeter agreed to cover several of their storefront windows with a semi-transparent film to obscure the fact that some of the storefront glass would be blocked out due to the internal display requirements.
“Rather than using generic scenes, we have requested Harris Teeter to utilize actual vintage photographs of Davidson. If you have old photos that we may copy, there is a chance they may end up on the building. Please contact Parviz Moosavi at pmoosavi@ci.davidson.nc.us or 704-940-9627 if you have photographs you’d like to share. All submittals need to in by January 24th if possible. Thanks!”
