Cornelius, the state DOT and the developer of the 1,000-home Antiquity project (at the end of South Street in Davidson) have reportedly struck deals to allow construction of required main entrance to the project onto Catawba Avenue and N.C. 115 in Cornelius (see design drawing). The Charlotte Observer‘s Lena Warmack reports in Sunday’s edition that Cornelius has agreed to contribute $1.5 million to the work, which could begin next fall.
The unfinished entrance is required under an interlocal agreement between Davidson and Cornelius and has been a sore spot among some Davidsonians.
