Tickets and sponsorships are now available for the 2nd annual ICE gala Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at River Run Country Club. The event benefits and raises awareness about the Ada Jenkins Center, a nonprofit community center at 212 Gamble St., on Davidson’s west side.
That’s a scene from the 2007 ICE gala.
Organizers say proceeds will support such center activities as the after-school program, which provides tutoring for 60 area elementary children; the Mobile Community Dental Clinic; and the center’s free medical clinic. Ada Jenkins Center offers a broad array of medical, youth education, crisis assistance and economic independence programs.
“This ICE event is a way for local residents to rally behind a cause that serves so many people living in their own community,” says Cindi Ferguson, event chairperson. “Our goal is to educate and raise money that directly impacts more than twenty programs.”
The black-tie optional gala begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a plated dinner and live auction emceed by WCNC’s weather anchor, Larry Sprinkle.
Sponsors who are generously supporting ICE 2008 so far include: The McIntosh Law Firm; Ingersoll Rand; Interstate Cycle; Charlotte Living Magazine; Aquesta Bank; Moore & Van Allen; Harris Teeter; Presbyterian Hospital; Patrick Joseph & Associates; Ivester-Jackson Properties and Artisan Signs and Graphics.
Sponsorships are still available; for more information on these or to purchase tickets, please contact Lisa Koenig at 704-896-0471 x100 or lisa.koenig@adajenkins.org. More information about Ada Jenkins Center is on its website.
