If you’re going out of town for the holidays, make sure you take precautions to safeguard your home. Davidson Police can help by checking your home while you’re gone.

In recent years, burglars have struck some neighborhoods during the holidays. The department offers the checks as part of its regular services. Officers will walk the perimeter of your home, observing doors and windows and looking for signs of attempted entry.

To have police check your home, you must notify the department when you are heading out of town and when you will return. Police ask that residents submit requests 12 to 24 hours before your departure.

Requests may be submitted by calling the department at 704-892-5131 or by complete an online form at http://www.ci.davidson.nc.us/units/police/seccheck.asp.
