Want to get involved? Citizen volunteers are being sought to fill vacancies on the Planning Board and Parks & Recreation Citizens Advisory Board.
You’re eligible if you live in the Davidson town limits or in the areas beyond the town borders where the town exercises planning control, known as extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ.
On the planning board, chairman Bill McCoy is retiring and member Laurie Venzon was elected to a seat on the Town Board earlier this month.
The Planning Board provides recommendations to the Town Board about development proposals and policy changes. It also assists staff in long-range and small-area planning. Terms last three years. The board meets the last Monday of the month with occasional subcommittee meetings during the year.

PARKS & REC
The eight-member Parks & Recreation Advisory Board provides citizen input, feedback and advocacy for parks and recreation issues.
Members serve alternating two-year terms, which run February to January. The board is elected by the Town Board of Commissioners at the January meeting each year. Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month.
A nominating committee chaired by the mayor recommends a slate of potential candidates to the town board for consideration. Six of the eight positions are filled by residents of the town and two members are elected to represent the ETJ and unincorporated areas.
