Downtown Davidson Inc. has commissioned the
first in a planned series of commemorative holiday ornaments to help raise money for Christmas in Davidson, the annual festival that runs Nov. 29-Dec. 1 this year. The ornament, by Pittsburgh Artist Tom Pollard, depicts scenes from Christmas in Davidson, including a horse-drawn carriage, Davidson College Presbyterian Church steeple and Main Street shops.
The ornaments are $15 each, available at Main Street Books, 126 S. Main St.; the Village Store, 110 S. Main St.; and Wooden Stone, 445 S. Main St.
Downtown Davidson’s annual Christmas in Davidson festival this year will include music, food, performances, horse-drawn carriage rides, a visit from Santa Claus, and the North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade (on Saturday, Dec. 1). Main Street will be closed during the events, which run 6 to 9 p.m. nightly during the festival.
