Last Father’s Day, Davidson’s Eric Vogen was near the end of the Latta Plantation Triathlon in Huntersville when he collapsed. A team of emergency medical technicians immediately began to help, and their efforts saved his life. Now, So Alive Gallery on Main Street, run by Mr. Vogen’s wife Mary Vogen, wants to give others the same shot at survival by offering a CPR class called “Heart Alive” this Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6-10 p.m.

Personnel from MEDIC Mecklenburg EMS/North Mecklenburg Rescue will teach the free class for adults and children at So Alive Gallery, 108 S. Main St., next to the Village Store. Seats are limited and reservations are required. To register or get more information, email Mary Vogen at mary@soalive.org
