It may be another quiet summer Weekend calendarweekend in Davidson, but the music continues at Summit Coffee. And the Davidson Copperheads baseball team is in town again tonight with a doubleheader against the Asheville Redbirds. And Sunday, an Afghan scholar in town for a few days will talk about the situation in his country at DCPC.

Guitarist Kate Minogue and Friends play tonight (Friday) from 8 to 11 p.m. On Saturday, it’s The Unsung Songwriters, also from 8-11. Summit Coffee is at 128 S. Main St.

Over at the Davidson College baseball field, the Copperheads take on the Redbirds in a twi-night doubleheader. The early game begins at 5, followed by the nightcap at 7. The two teams will play another doubleheader tomorrow in Asheville.

Eisa Khan Ayoob Ayoobi, a Afghan who recently completed a year as a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University, will talk about the basis of conflict in Afghanistan and his personal experiences growing up there on Sunday at 3 p.m. Davidson College Presbyterian Church Parlor. See related story
