Public transit opponents have collected enough signatures to put a question on this November’s ballot calling for repeal of a half-cent sales tax that pays for buses and trains.
The Charlotte Observer reports this morning that Jim Puckett, a former county commissioner helping to lead the anti-transit campaign, called it “a historic day.”
The vote could affect commuter bus service along I-77 between Davidson and Charlotte as well as plans for the north corridor commuter rail line.
