Davidson’s annual Town Day Road Race, which helps raise money for Davidson Cornelius Day Care Center, will draw runners from throughout the area to the Village Green on Saturday morning, May 5. The 1-mile fun run starts at 8 a.m., followed by a 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race at 8:30.
Runners who pre-registered can pick up their packets and T-shirts at the Green from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Not registered yet? You can do it at the green until 7:45 a.m.

All proceeds from the race go to the Davidson Cornelius Day Care Center, a private non-profit center for children ages 2-5 from diverse racial, cultural and economic backgrounds. The center, on Gamble Street, was founded in 1967 and is overseen by a board of community volunteers.
