The Lake Norman Art League invites artists to submit entries for its 2007 spring exhibit, which will feature postcard-sized artworks focusing on Lake Norman area.
The exhibit will be on display March 31 to April 28 at the Lake Norman Art League exhibition space, 108 South Main St. in Davidson, hosted by Vision Capital and Management LLC.
Cash prizes will be awarded and a selection of entries will be chosen by a panel of local artists and community leaders to be published as postcards for sale throughout the Lake Norman area. Winning entries also will be displayed at Cornelius Town Hall in June and at Christa Faut Gallery in Cornelius in July.
The art league Images should feature Lake Norman area themes, including local scenes, landmarks, cultural events, architecture, flora and fauna, and anything that captures the character of the region.
Entries must be delivered to the show March 24 or March 25.
The exhibit is supported in part by an Arts & Science Council project grant and by a matching grant from the Hope at the Point Foundation of Mooresville.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best in show and top works in three categories: oil, acrylic, egg tempera or mixed media; watercolor, pastel, pencil or photography; and 3-D, including sculpture, wood and ceramics. All entries except 3-D works must be postcard sized, 5 x 7 inches. Artists must be 18 or over.
Details, including the full specifications for work and entry forms, are available on the Lake Norman Art League Website, by email at info@lknart.org or by leaving a phone message at 704-237-1042.
