We kick off 2008 with the announcement of three engagements, happy news for the families of Elodie Sutton/Jacques Domenge, Drew Wilgus/Brennan Drake and Brittany Hutchins/Adam Kicklighter.

Sutton/Domenge engagement

Congratulations to Elodie Sutton and Jacques Domenge who are engaged and plan a summer wedding in France. Elodie is the daughter of Homer Sutton and Catherine Slawy-Sutton of Davidson. She is the granddaughter of Agathe Slawy and the late Guy Slawy of Nice, France, and of the late Homer Sr. and Lalia Sutton, of Dalton, Ga. Jacques is the son of Enrique and Silvia Domenge of Potomac, MD. He is the grandson of Micheline Viale de Cervantes of Lausanne, Switzerland, and the late Luis Andrés Gonzalez, and of the late Enrique Domenge and Yvonne Gaudry de Domenge, of Mexico City. Elodie is a graduate of Wake Forest University and currently works for the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. Jacques is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is the Career Services Manager at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts’ DC campus of Boston University.

Wilgus/Drake engagement

David and Robin Wilgus are happy to share the news with us that their son, Drew, became engaged to Brennan Drake, last October 2007 and are planning a wedding in October 2008. Brennan is the daughter of Richard and Kaye Drake of Mebane, N.C. Drew and Brennan are both graduates of the UNCC School of Architecture. Drew is currently employed with the Roberts Group in Cary. Brennan works for Perkins and Will in the Raleigh area. Congratulations to all the family including Drew’s sister, Dinah, a junior majoring in Secondary Education at ASU, and Robin’s mother, Gladys Sanstrom of Cornelius.

Hutchins/Kicklighter engagement

Planning a June wedding are Brittany McBride Hutchins and Samuel Adam Kicklighter. Brittany is the daughter of Susan B. Manning of Davidson and the late Mickey Lee Hutchins. Grandparents of the bride are Yvonne Bost Byers of Huntersville and the late Rev. Edgar D. Byers as well as Max and Doris Hutchins of Concord. Parents of the groom are Caryn and Gary Kicklighter of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Grandmother of the groom is Nanita Maurer, also of St. Simons Island. Brittany was raised in Davidson and Huntersville. She currently is a senior at the University of South Carolina in Columbia majoring in Sport and Entertainment Management. Adam was raised in St. Simon Island and is a senior at the University of Georgia in Athens. He is majoring in English Education. We congratulate this young couple and their families.
