Friday morning’s chilly rain turned to snow after 2:30 p.m., sending middle schoolers flocking to the green for a little bit of snow football and forcing us all to wrap those scarves a little tighter. Kids were out sledding as soon after school as they could get their boots on.
The winter weather caused a slew of auto accidents on local streets, including one that slowed traffic at Davidson-Concord and East Rocky river Roads around 4:30 p.m. Some events planned in Davidson Friday night also were canceled, including a play and a concert. (See related story, “Weather affects school and event schedules”.)
Below are a few photos we grabbed as the snow was beginning. Send us yours and we’ll build a gallery. editor@davidsonnews.net.
