The victim told police he was using the ATM when he was approached by a black male suspect wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun. The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash and digital camera, then fled south on foot, in the direction of the CVS and Davidson Public Library.
The ATM user was not hurt, and called 911. The robber reportedly escaped in a gold sedan.
“The victim was approached on foot, then he (the robber) ran away in the direction of the CVS and library. Then all of a sudden, this sedan – gold in color – came out,” Police Chief Jeanne Miller told DavidsonNews.net.
Police are investigating the robbery, and working with Wachovia Bank to see if they can obtain images from the ATM’s security camera.
