A new poll out this week from Elon University finds that 54 percent of North Carolinians surveyed would favor creation of a public health insurance option.
About three-quarters of those surveyed said they believe the nation’s health care system is in need of reform, according to the latest Elon University Poll.
Forty-one percent of respondents said they would use a public option plan should one become available.
The poll was conducted Oct. 26-29, and surveyed 703 North Carolina residents. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points. In a report on the Elon website, researchers said the sample covers “the population in general, with numbers that include both landlines and cellular phones.”
