She watched as they stole her campaign sign

More political sign thefts have been reported this weekend. Someone stole signs at a row of homes in the St. Alban’s neighborhood Friday night. And DavidsonNews.net’s Laurie Dennis is beginning to feel like a target: She watched last night as an a carload of 20-somethings grabbed her presidential campaign sign yet again. See “comments” under Ms. Dennis’s commentary “Hey you, hands off my yard sign.”
On the one hand, it’s comforting to think this is what passes for crime in most parts of our town. But we have to wonder: Regardless of which side’s signs are targeted: What’s to be gained by this sort of thing? — David Boraks
