Mabel McIntosh

Mabel Hager McIntosh of Davidson died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. She was 90. Visiting hours are Sunday, 4-6, at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville. A funeral is planned Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons, Richard and wife Carolyn of Davidson, Raymond and wife Shirley of Mooresville and Ruben and wife Marlene of Davidson; daughter-in-law, Rebecca of Mooresville; brother, Sid Hager; sisters, Nancy Elliott, Polly Strickland and Peggie Hawkins; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. McIntosh was born in Gaston County on Feb. 4, 1918 to the late R.C. and Ruthie Hager. She was a retired textile worker and farmer who loved to garden and share her crops with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Oliver “Fat” McIntosh; sons, Robert McIntosh and an infant son; brothers, Bill, Lonnie and Dean Hager; and sisters, Dorothy Perkins, Thelma Armstrong, and Connie Bolick; as well as three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct, 20, 2008, in the chapel of Raymer Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Hills Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith St., Suite 203, Davidson, N.C. 28036. Raymer Funeral Home is serving the family.
