July 4th celebrations in Davidson continued on through a slow drizzle and the occasional thunder, as residents came out with umbrellas and enjoyed the music of the Summerdaze band.

Around 4,500 wristbands had been picked up by Davidson residents by Thursday, but the rain deterred many from coming. Officials expect to continue the festivities unless the storm becomes worse.

A parade was held from Town Hall down South Steet to McEver Field to lead off the festivities.
