CBS puts town, college on national TV

Davidson on CBS Morning showWe’re on TV!

CBS Morning Show anchor Dave Price appeared live this morning (Thursday) from the Davidson College union, surrounded by hundreds of college students, Davidson Elementary students and other fans of the Davidson Wildcats basketball team.

cbs-ross.JPGMr. Price interviewed Davidson College President Tom Ross (at left in red sweater), who said classes have not been dismissed Friday, as Davidson is a place that loves its Wildcats teams but values education.

About 400 fans packed all three levels of the college union, joining together to sing “Sweet Caroline” twice and to offer rousing cheers whenever necessary. cbs-cue-cards.JPGMr. Price changed outfits three times, drawing applause when he pulled on a black Davidson sweatshirt for a segment filmed from the union’s second floor (see photo at bottom).

When the cameras were off air, the production crew worked on their cue cards and shouted instructions to the obliging crowd. The national broadcast ran from 7-9 a.m. Thursday morning.
