Water outage planned for The Pines

Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities has announced that water service will be interrupted temporarily for The Pines neighborhood on Monday, March 3, while a water main along Woodland and Thompson streets is being replaced.

The work affects residents of The Pines retirement community. The interruption is expected to last from 11 a.m. Monday until no later that 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Here’s the full notice, which we received via the town of Davidson’s eCrier email service:

——————————-

Dear Customers:

Propst Construction Co., Inc., under supervision of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities, is constructing new water lines in the Town of Davidson.

As a result, we must temporarily interrupt water service to the Pines community, beginning at 11:OO PM on Monday, March 3, 2008. Water service will be restored no later than 6:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

Once service is restored, you may briefly experience slightly discolored water. You may also notice a slight chlorine odor from the disinfection process. This is quite normal and is temporary. To help with this process, you may want to run your cold-water tap until the water clears up.

We apologize for any temporary inconvenience this outage may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we proceed with this important project.

If you have any questions, or if you are placed out of service at times other than as indicated above, please call the Project Inspector, Bruce Twyman, at 704-578-0193, or myself at 704-391-5124.

Very truly yours,

CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG UTILITIES
