Last day at Stowe’s Exxon

It was the last day of business Friday, Dec. 21, at Stowe’s Exxon, at South Main and South streets. Owner C. Wayne Stowe has sold the property to developer David Stewart, who plans a 3-story commercial and retail building on the site. Meanwhile, Mr. Stowe and son-in-law Jerry Cline will open a new shop, Cline’s Auto & Tire, on Highway 115 about 4 1/2 miles north of Davidson. DavidsonNews.net editor David Boraks and photographer Bill Giduz visited Mr. Stowe before he shut the doors Friday. Listen and watch our audio slide show.
