Home invasion results in gunfire
A home invasion Sunday evening, June 24, on Sloan Street in the west side of Davidson resulted in gunfire but no injuries and led to a community meeting last night between neighbors and the Davidson Police Department.
Sara-Lynne Levine, communications director for the Town of Davidson, told DavidsonNews.net that the home invasion occured at about 10:30 p.m. and involved at least two men. The men were interrupted by family members and neighbors returning to the home. Ms. Levine said the men fled and were chased by the family and neighbors.
“Multiple gun shots were fired, by both sides,” Ms. Levine said. “No one was hurt.”
The men escaped by a car parked nearby.
Davidson Police Chief Jeanne Miller and members of the police department met Monday night at the Ada Jenkins Center with Sloan Street residents and discussed the case. Ms. Levine said a facilitator led the meeting and a follow-up meeting may be scheduled.
Ms. Levine added that this is an open investigation. Anyone with information should call the police department at 704-892-5131.
