In the news: Charter school to be K-2

Pine Lake Preparatory charter school, which is planned on N.C. 115 north of Davidson, is cutting back its plans to open as a K-10 school this fall, and instead will offer grades K-2, The Charlotte Observer reports.
Officials at the proposed school told the newspaper that they can’t find a temporary location big enough while they wait for construction of their permanent campus off N.C. 115 in south Iredell County.
The announcement follows earlier troubles at the school with a lottery for new students. In early May, the school was investigating how some parents were able to submit multiple lottery entries for their children.
