THIS WEEK: Planning meetings, Town Day, Free Clinic fund-raiser, concerts
Two events at Town Hall this week will look at new developments in the planning stages – one a proposal to fill in a gap in the Davidson East mixed-use project east of town and the other a revised plan for the Stowe’s Exxon site downtown.
On Tuesday, the town’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will discuss plans for a new town community center. Also this week, Town Day brings fun and food to the Village Green on Saturday, and Saturday night from 5 until dark, there’s a barbecue and bluegrass fund-raiser out at Beaver Dam for the Our Towns free medical clinic.
PLANNING MEETINGS
Both the Davidson East and Exxon development proposals will be the subject of informational presentations at the monthly meeting of the Davidson Planning Board Monday night at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
The Exxon proposal was not on the original agenda, but developer David Stewart of Harris Associates said Friday he plans to present the planning board his latest site plan for a retail and office building on the site.
Then on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., residents are invited to a follow-up planning workshop about the Stowe’s Exxon project, also at Town Hall. Mr. Stewart expects to show revised site plans and drawings for the multistory building that incorporate citizen feedback at March 8 workshop.
Exxon owner C. Wayne Stowe told Davidson News & Notes in February he plans to retire this summer and sell the site to Mr. Stewart. Read our February story, CLICK HERE>
