Woodlawn, Davidson teams lead contest

A team of Woodlawn School fifth graders placed first in North Carolina and 22nd among 300 teams nationally in the Knowledge Master Open student quiz competition March 21.

Town hires its first part-time firefighters

(March 22, 2007) The days of an all-volunteer fire department in Davidson have ended. The Davidson Fire Department recently added paid “standby” firefighters on weekdays to supplement volunteers.

21 complete town’s first Civics 101

A group of 21 Davidson residents (above) “graduated” last week with degrees in a subject they’ve been studying all year – town government.
The town’s first Civics 101 class wound up with a ceremony at the Town Board meeting Tuesday, March 13, where the participants (listed below) got certificates and Town of Davidson T-shirts.
