Exit 30 projects on board agendas

Two projects proposed for land near Exit 30 off I-77 will come before the planning board and the town board this coming week.

The planning board meets Monday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at town hall. It will consider whether to recommend the proposed Sheraton hotel and conference center off Griffith Street and see a revised plan for the Pinnacle at Davidson Gateway, a housing and office development.

Both projects will be up for discussion the following night, Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m., at the town board’s monthly non-voting work session, also at town hall.

Also on the town boards agenda for Tuesday are discussions of revisions to the village infill planning area rules and the proposed purchase of the local cable TV system. (See the full agenda, CLICK HERE>)

The Sheraton project includes a six-story hotel building and 10,463 square feet of meeting space, as well as a ground-level restaurant.

The Pinnacle proect calls for a six-story, 60-unit, residential
condominium building, two 6,000 square-foot, three-story, office buildings and eight affordable residential units, according to town planners.

Monday’s planning board session also will include a half-hour overview of current development projects in Davidson by planning director Kris Krider. The presentation is a repeat of one Mr. Krider made Feb. 1 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. He’ll answer questions afterward. The meeting and presentation are open to the public.
